6-month post-operative review after arm lift surgery
I underwent arm liposuction, bra bulge (side breast) liposuction, and an arm lift, and it has now been 6 months since the surgery.
Because my weight has fluctuated many times since childhood, I had some skin laxity in other areas as well, but my arms were especially severe. I had a lot of excess fat, so I often had to buy clothes with sleeves that could cover my arms. My arms always felt tight in regular-size clothing, so I usually had to buy one size larger. Whenever I lifted or lowered my arms, the sagging was very noticeable.
However, after the surgery, the shape of my arms completely changed. The arm line looks much smoother when I raise or lower my arms, and my arms are visibly slimmer. The first three days were honestly very painful—I even struggled just to lie down or get up—but as I gradually recovered, the bruising was much less than I expected. Now the scars have faded quite a bit. There is still some redness, but the doctor explained that scars need long-term observation, so I’m patiently waiting.
For aftercare, I’m mainly careful about sun exposure, as strong sunlight can cause pigmentation, so I always apply sunscreen when I go out. What makes me happiest is how slim and defined my arm line has become—I can now wear clothes two sizes smaller. In the past, I always bought oversized clothes to hide my arms, but now I can finally wear short-sleeved tops, which makes me extremely satisfied.
Compared to before surgery, the arm fat that used to bother me so much every summer has almost completely disappeared. I am truly very satisfied with the results.
Thank you so much, Dr. Jaeho Cho!
