The Line Plastic Surgery, Talent Donation to a Vietnamese Child for Blepharoptosis
The Line Plastic Surgery and NH Foundation gave free surgery – blepharoptosis correction – to a Vietnamese child as a supportive program.
The child who received free surgery through the talent donation had had a problem in her eyelids. She is 14 years old and her name is Van Thi Thuy. Her eye muscles didn’t function properly so she could open her eyes only a little bit by using forehead muscles.
According to medical professionals, Miss Van Thi Thuy had this problem from when she was born so she definitely needed plastic surgery but she couldn’t have it as her parents couldn’t afford it.
The reason this surgery was so important was because it was her revision surgery. After the initial surgery conducted at a hospital in Yên Bái Province, Vietnam in 2011 was failed, her state became more severe. Both eyes didn’t function well when she opened her eyes, her eyes were asymmetric, and she got scars on her eyelids.
Miss Van Thi Thuy, who visited Korea after deciding to undergo surgery, received ptosis correction from Dr Chung, YooSeok for her both eyes. The eyelids were cut and detached, and a part of fat and injured tissues were removed during the surgery. After this, she became to open her eyes properly like other people by practicing opening her eyes with her eye muscles instead of forehead muscles.
Miss Van Thi Thuy said, “I always hoped to open my eyes well and to talk with other people making eye contact and I’m really happy that I can see the other’s eyes comfortably while talking.”
Dr. Chung, YooSeok from The Line Plastic Surgery said “To improve the quality of life of low-income people and vulnerable social group when it comes to medical services, we’ve been continuously supported them along with welfare foundations, associations, and organizations.” “We will take the lead in talent donation of giving free surgery and in supportive activities to contribute to society.”
For the free surgery of Miss Van Thi Thuy, Hanoi broadcasting company in Vietnam joined us and filmed this supportive program. It will be distributed under the program title ‘Connecting Heart’ on Vietnamese channel H1.
