Because of health issues, I gained weight rapidly in a short period of time. Although I managed to lose a significant amount of weight through dieting, loose skin and stretch marks were problems I couldn’t fix on my own…
In particular, my stretch marks had already turned completely white. I also looked into laser treatments for stretch marks, but the results didn’t seem very promising, so I began considering arm lift surgery.
I heard that combining liposuction with an arm lift can produce better results, so I started searching for hospitals that are skilled in both procedures.
To be honest, at first I only associated “lifting” with facelifts. Later I learned that the abdomen, thighs, and arms can also be lifted—the scope is actually quite broad. I began seriously searching for reviews and experiences related to arm lifts, but compared to liposuction, there were far fewer posts. Perhaps people are still not very familiar with this procedure…
I sent direct messages to several people whose recovery results looked good, asking where they had their surgery and how much it cost. After organizing the information, my list of candidate hospitals gradually became clearer.
Since I live near Seoul, I focused mainly on clinics in the Seoul area. Among them, The Line Plastic Surgery Clinic had the most reviews, so I scheduled a consultation there first. While researching their arm lift cases, I noticed that many were shared by postpartum mothers. I trust moms when it comes to information, so I paid special attention to their posts.
I also learned that the clinic’s head surgeon had appeared on the TV show Let美人, which really surprised me—I used to watch that show when I was younger!
Because this is a technically demanding surgery, I wanted to choose a clinic with extensive experience, so I visited The Line Plastic Surgery Clinic first.
I went to the clinic on May 27. The consultation process was:
Consultation manager → surgeon → back to the consultation manager.
I rarely show my arms, even in front of my family, so I felt a bit embarrassed at first. However, the consultant remained completely professional. She carefully examined the degree of skin laxity, listened attentively as I explained why I wanted an arm lift and liposuction, and then recommended a surgical plan suited to me.
She also explained clearly:
If you undergo an arm lift, there will definitely be scars (because incisions are required).
Although the scars will gradually fade over time, if you are very concerned about scarring, you can focus more on liposuction and perform a lighter lift.
However, I felt that stretch marks and surgical scars aren’t very different, so I said I wanted to correct as much as possible.
She asked about my maximum budget, available surgery dates, and whether I wanted to choose a specific surgeon.
Honestly, I felt any surgeon would be fine since their skills are excellent, so I said I had no preference. She then recommended Director Joongjae Baek.
Next, I met with Director Baek Jung Jae. He explained the location of my arm muscles and said the liposuction would be performed beneath the muscle layer.
(Later, when I asked the consultant, she explained that fat above the muscle is difficult to remove through liposuction.)
We decided on a mid-level procedure between stages 3 and 4 of the arm lift.
The director asked if I had any additional questions, but since I had already reviewed detailed information on The Line’s website (including surgery time and recovery period), I didn’t have much else to ask.
When I returned to the consultant, she explained the surgical costs and process. Medical photographs were taken, and my compression garment size was measured.
Before visiting, I had planned to “just consult first and then check other clinics.”
But after the consultation, I signed the contract and paid the deposit right away.
We even confirmed the surgery date that same day.
What reassured me the most was that they didn’t simply say, “Leave it to us, everything will be perfect.” Instead, they clearly explained:
Even with lifting surgery, you cannot remove as much skin as you want.
Especially in areas like the arms, which move frequently, excessive removal is not possible.
The surgeon must make adjustments during the operation.
I found this honesty more realistic and trustworthy.
They also told me that because this is an aesthetic procedure combining liposuction and lifting, it cannot be performed aggressively. If my physical condition is not good on the day of surgery, they will not proceed, so I must take good care of my health beforehand.
Because of this, I ultimately decided there was no need to visit other clinics.
I paid the deposit and confirmed the surgery date.
The surgery is scheduled for mid-June.
Until then, I will focus on staying healthy and avoiding colds or illness.
I truly hope I will never have to go through a “revision surgery” in this lifetime…
