Three months out from liposuction on my abdomen and love handles, the difference is hard to miss. Now that the swelling has fully settled, I can see exactly where the fat came off just by looking in the mirror. My clothes fit differently, and my whole silhouette feels like it belongs to someone slightly reshaped.

The scars are still a dark reddish color, but they've been fading a little more each week. The treated areas also look slightly uneven next to the rest of me, though that's been smoothing out as I heal. Most of the bruising and swelling were gone by around the two-month mark.

I had stem cell treatment and autologous blood therapy done alongside the procedure, and maybe that's part of why the swelling and bruising never got severe and I bounced back faster than I expected. The dull, heavy ache from those first few weeks is basically gone now — all that's left is an odd sensation in a couple of spots.

Looking back on the whole thing, recovery went more smoothly than I'd pictured. The swelling and bruising settled quickly, and actually being able to see the change in my lines has made me glad I went through with it. The scarring and the numbness still need more time, but based on how it's gone so far, I'm happy with where I've landed.
