I never thought of myself as thin, but I was not especially heavy either, so I never imagined I would end up worrying about this,
but from high school I unexpectedly ended up living abroad, and over about 5 years I gained more than 20kg, until at some point I became someone who avoided mirrors and would not step on a scale.
At first the clothes I used to wear stopped fitting so I switched to elastic-waist clothing, and sometimes when something I used to wear no longer fit and I tried it on in a store fitting room, I was so upset that I would just buy the largest T-shirt and leave, and I dealt with that feeling by binge eating.
On top of that, once I started working, with excessive work stretching into the early hours and late-night snacks every evening, my weight hit 70kg for the first time, and from then on I tried dieting several times, but with endless overtime and late-night snacks nothing much really changed.
As I was wearing down, I decided to move back to Korea, and once I had a gap in my schedule my parents readily suggested liposuction.
At first I was really taken aback and wondered if I had gained so much weight that it was beyond help, but one sentence from my mother changed my mind. "I just want you to live without being looked down on anywhere" I felt like my mother had seen the heart that had, without me realizing, shrunk beyond repair, and I felt both sorry and grateful.
I had a lot of worries from watching YouTube and Instagram about liposuction reviews and side effects, but with my parents' support and after reading all of TheLINE's reviews I finally decided this was a place I could trust.
Above all, since it was a major operation covering everything from my face to my arms, abdomen and thighs, the fact that stem cells are used so recovery after surgery is fast, that TheLINE Plastic Surgery has been accident-free for 18 years, and that through the consultation with the manager, because the whole body is done in one session, she recommended Dr. Jungjae Baek with 12 years of experience for his stamina, and recommended Dr. Yoosuk Chung with 31 years of experience for the face because of the contour work - hearing all of that made me trust them even more.
In particular, no matter how much I exercised, the number on the scale might change a little but my thigh and hip line never did, so when I asked them to pay a little extra attention to my thigh and hip line, the clear solution that for the contour you have to start from the knee and shape the line going up put me at ease.
Now that I am closing a long chapter abroad and coming back to Korea to start a new life, this surgery brings some tension and a little fear, but imagining erasing, with this one surgery, the me who deflates over a single shirt, the me who blames herself after binge eating and avoids the mirror for a week, and imagining the new version of myself, I just feel excited.
