Hello. This is Dr. Jungjae Baek of TheLINE Plastic Surgery, a clinic specializing in body contouring. What many people name as the biggest hurdle during a diet is the 'abdomen and flanks'. It is also an area where exercise and diet alone make it hard to create as smooth a line as you want. Today I would like to introduce TheLINE's own solution through the actual case of a patient with a 160cm / 66kg frame who was troubled by a particularly concentrated fat layer around the abdomen.

At the time of consultation, the patient's biggest concerns were a protruding lower abdomen and the loss of her waistline. The photo you see is the patient's actual pre-operative photo. The characteristics of her body shape confirmed through the actual photos were as follows. First, on the front of the abdomen, fat had accumulated thickly in the lower abdomen, so that seen from the front the abdomen was rounded and expanded overall. Because of this the upper body looked bulkier than it really was, and her silhouette collapsed when she wore clothes. Second, on the sides and flanks, the waistline was not defined and dropped straight down, and fat in the flank (love handle) area had accumulated above the pelvis, so she was greatly troubled by flesh folding over the waistband of her trousers. Lastly, because the patient currently had a relatively large amount of fat, her skin was a case where it could sag or lose firmness after suction, so 'firmness care' beyond simply removing fat was essential.

This is the patient's photo at one month after surgery. You can see that the line of the abdomen is clearly different from before surgery. Taking the patient's body characteristics into account, we performed SVF abdominal liposuction, which allows skin firmness to be maintained remarkably well at the same time as suction. First, we precisely extracted fat over a wide area covering the entire abdomen and the love handles, clearly reducing the volume. In particular, to relieve the fullness of the lower abdomen, we performed suction meticulously, layer by layer. We also carried out the liposuction using SVF. This holds firmly the space left after fat is removed from a wide area, preventing the skin sagging or unevenness that commonly occurs after surgery and completing a smooth surface. Beyond simply making the abdomen flat, we focused on sculpting the area connecting the flanks and the back flanks deeply, rebuilding a feminine S-curve.

This is the patient's photo at six months after surgery. The line has been refined more smoothly, the abdominal protrusion she was concerned about is gone, the hidden waistline has come back, and you can see that the overall proportions have improved considerably. Thanks to SVF liposuction, even though a large amount of fat was removed, the abdominal skin does not droop but adheres firmly to the abdominal wall, completing a healthy-looking line. Since the surgery, the patient no longer chooses her clothes to hide her abdomen and flanks. Her satisfaction was very high thanks to the smoothly falling silhouette even when wearing tight workout clothes or outfits that emphasize the waistline. Seeing the patient so satisfied after surgery makes me proud as her physician. ^^
Abdominal liposuction is not simply an operation to remove fat. The key is a 'design' that takes into account each individual's skin firmness, the position of the muscles, and the harmony of the overall body shape. TheLINE Plastic Surgery combines the handmade technique of experienced physicians with SVF technology to deliver safe, firm results.
