Hello, this is Jaeho Cho, Chief Director of TheLINE Plastic Surgery.

The true success or failure of body contouring surgery is not decided on the operating table. It begins with my own commitment never to be intoxicated by the dramatic volume reduction right after surgery and overlook the 'true completion' the patient will meet later on. The patient I introduce today has a build of 164cm and 64kg, and because of the broad 270-degree area running from the shoulder to the elbow, along with the excess tissue at the upper arm root that so many people quietly worry about, her upper-body frame looked far heavier than it actually was. Facing her, I set a goal that went beyond reducing the volume of fat: to rebuild the 'vertical aesthetic' that runs straight down from the tip of the shoulder to the elbow. Many people focus only on the change right after liposuction, but body tissue responds over a far longer rhythm. One year after surgery, when the swelling has gone, the cells have settled into their new places and the skin tissue has begun to fully remember that shape, is the sacred moment when the true result is finally born. With the sense I have acquired over 31 years and more than 50,000 cases, I completed the patient's arm contour in its most harmonious and straight form. 1. The aesthetics of the 5mm hidden incision: a philosophy of traces hard to find even a year later The arms are among the most frequently exposed parts of the body in daily life. That is why, as a board-certified plastic surgeon, I closely consider the patient's lifestyle and daily habits when choosing where scars will fall. In this 270-degree arm and upper arm root liposuction as well, I thoroughly avoided exposed areas such as the elbow or the outer arm. Instead I secured a micro-incision of only about 5mm within the deep, natural crease inside the armpit, and sculpted the entire area precisely through that small opening. This follows the same reasoning as targeting the body's natural curves or the blind spots along the underwear line during abdominal or thigh liposuction. One year is more than enough time for the body's remarkable regenerative ability to blend a scar completely into the surrounding skin tone. Scars become one with the surrounding tissue and disappear as time passes, and only the contour we designed so precisely remains. The patient now enjoys the everyday freedom of choosing sleeveless tops, off-shoulder styles, or any bold outfit at all, entirely released from any memory of a scar and free to enjoy her changed contour.

These are the patient's pre-operative photos.

2. Stem cell-rich SVF liposuction: how firmness grows more solid as the year passes What patients who have had ordinary liposuction most often worry about later is skin sagging or a loss of firmness. But the sculpting at TheLINE takes an entirely different direction. I applied the stem cell-rich SVF liposuction method throughout, choosing an approach that maximizes the regenerative energy of the skin tissue rather than simply removing fat. The place where fat has been drawn out becomes temporarily empty. Into that space I preserved, densely and without destroying them, the viable cellular regenerative factors and microvascular fractions secured during extraction. Over the long span of a year after surgery, these components continuously rebuild the collagen network within the skin. As time passes, the so-called 'self-adhesion lifting' effect, in which the skin settles ever more tightly onto the muscle layer, grows stronger. This is TheLINE's distinctive difference: the skin texture feels far smoother and firmer a year after surgery than it did immediately afterward. Anyone can simply take fat away, but filling that space with resilient tissue is a domain only a physician with insight into regenerative medicine can reach.

These are the patient's post-operative photos.

3. One year after surgery: the straight line of the arm at last, and confidence regained One year on, the patient's arm contour is no longer a source of worry about looking bulky. With the excess tissue that once bulged below the armpit and at the back of the arm whenever she lowered her arms now fully resolved, her 164cm proportions look far more open and slim. Now that the upper arm root in particular has been smoothed out, the shoulder line reads as straighter and more feminine, and the overall impression of the upper body has become considerably more refined. Most of all, the patient told us, "The contour looks more natural and the skin feels firmer as time goes on than it did right after surgery," saying that her satisfaction now, one year later, is far greater than it was at the time of the operation. That is because this is not simply a surgery that removes fat but a process that brings the innate potential of your body to its best state. Thirty-one years of practice does not mean only a number of surgeries. Designing a contour that ages most gracefully, taking into account one year, five years, and the long span beyond, is my unchanging sincerity. Through the sculpting Dr. Jaeho Cho performs at TheLINE, I hope you too will experience the most beautiful silhouette, one that shines more brightly as time goes on. Until I find your most beautiful real contour, my research and reflection will not stop.
