TheLINE Plastic Surgery performed ptosis surgery for a Vietnamese child on the 18th, as part of an international sponsorship program organized by the NH Nonghyup Foundation.

The recipient of this sponsored surgery, carried out as a donation of professional skills, was Van Thi Thuy, a 14-year-old Vietnamese girl with an eyelid disorder. Her eye muscles were not functioning to open her eyes, and she could only open them slightly by using her forehead muscles.
According to the clinic, Van Thi Thuy had a congenital eyelid disorder and urgently needed surgery, but had been unable to receive it because of her family's difficult circumstances.
What made this surgery especially important is that it was her second ptosis surgery. Because the first surgery, performed in 2011 at a hospital in Yen Bai Province, Vietnam, had failed, the loss of eye-opening function in both eyes had become more severe, the two eyes were not symmetrical, and scarring remained on the eyelids.
Having decided on surgery, Van Thi Thuy came to Korea and underwent bilateral ptosis surgery with Dr. Yoosuk Chung, with incision and dissection of both eyes; during the operation, some fat and scar tissue was also removed. After surgery, through practice in opening her eyes using the eye muscles instead of the forehead muscles, she became able to open her eyes the same as anyone else.
Van Thi Thuy said of the surgery, "My wish was to be able to open my eyes properly and talk while looking people in the eye, and now I can look at the other person's eyes and talk comfortably, so I am really happy."
Dr. Yoosuk Chung of TheLINE Plastic Surgery said, "We have carried out continuous social contribution activities with welfare foundations, associations and organizations to improve the quality of life of low-income, medically underserved people at home and abroad," adding, "We will continue to take the lead in social contribution through free surgery as a donation of professional skills and through support programs."
This sponsored surgery was also filmed by a Hanoi broadcasting station in Vietnam, and it is scheduled to be introduced through the program 'Connecting Hearts' aired on Vietnam's H1 channel.
