TheLINE Plastic Surgery announced on the 13th that its entry in the '3rd Cannes International Aesthetic Film Festival,' hosted by the F.A.C.E. 2 F@ce Congress, took second place, a first for an Asian country.

Held this year for the third time, the 'Cannes International Aesthetic Film Festival' is an internationally popular film festival held through the F.A.C.E. 2 f@ce Congress. It deals with issues related to creativity and gives awards to the best aesthetic medicine films. Any work related to aesthetic procedures and surgery is eligible for entry.
The competition at the Cannes International Aesthetic Film Festival has four categories in total - aesthetic medicine, aesthetic surgery, industry, and humanitarian efforts - and TheLINE Plastic Surgery achieved second place in the 'aesthetic surgery' category with a work titled 'The Mirror.'
'The Mirror,' in which Dr. Yoosuk Chung of TheLINE Plastic Surgery made his debut as director and lead actor, is a 15-minute short film about sublimating inner beauty into outer beauty, that is, a story of recovering confidence and humanity through plastic surgery. It follows a protagonist with a complex about his appearance who enters the 'mirror world,' gains beauty with the help of a wizard (a doctor), and goes on to live with a more positive outlook.
'The Mirror' is said to have received high praise after being screened before the many attendees at the congress.
Dr. Yoosuk Chung said, "It was already meaningful just to be selected as one of the best films and screened before an audience, so I am delighted to be the first from an Asian country to win an award," adding, "I hope this film can serve as an occasion to reduce, even a little, the unconditionally negative view of plastic surgery."
