'Ipha, the Start of Summer': Safe Liposuction Methods for Body Shape Concerns - Notice & Press 1 - TheLINE Plastic Surgery

With Ipha, the start of summer, the weather is getting warmer. Unlike winter, when thick clothes and long sleeves could hide the figure, clothing is getting thinner and the body line shows as it is, so more people are planning diets to remove the extra flesh and fat gained over the winter.

Many people exercise or control their diet for a slim figure, but some do not get satisfying results, or struggle because fat accumulated in specific areas simply will not come off.

The thighs and buttocks, made up of storage fat, are especially hard to see diet results in, so people with a 'lower-body weight' body type sometimes feel stressed by localized fat. That is even more true when 'cellulite' has already settled into a fat layer built up slowly over a long period, and after much thought some come to consider liposuction.

Dr. Jaeho Cho of the Body Contouring Center at TheLINE Plastic Surgery said, "Liposuction directly extracts fat accumulated in the body to smooth the body line, and it can improve the contour of specific areas such as the thighs and buttocks, which are storage fat layers," adding, "Performing an ultrasound fat analysis before surgery can raise satisfaction with the result and also secure safety."

Applying an ultrasound fat analysis before surgery identifies the accumulated subcutaneous fat layer so only the appropriate amount of fat is removed, which secures safety. It can also prevent possible side effects such as skin irregularity, cellulite and skin sagging caused by excessive liposuction, and thereby minimize the likelihood of needing liposuction revision surgery.

The thighs and hip line, which consist of storage fat, can also be suctioned evenly across all layers, producing a longer-looking, smooth lower-body line from the hip down to the knee. Suctioning through the tailbone and pelvic area also reduces concerns about visible scars.

Another advantage is that soft tissue such as muscle, blood vessels and nerves can be identified, so only the subcutaneous fat layer is removed without unnecessary damage, raising the safety of the surgery. Recovery also tends to be relatively fast, so a return to daily life can come sooner.

Dr. Minseong Kwon of the clinic advised, "If you have made up your mind about liposuction after much thought, you need to have a thorough consultation with a specialist medical team before proceeding," adding, "It is important to check whether advanced equipment such as ultrasound and endoscopy is in place for identifying the cause and making a prior assessment before surgery, and whether a specialized medical team takes responsibility for aftercare."
